OUR MISSION
The primary

of the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office with all respects associated with
locating, rescuing, and recovering all lost, stranded, injured or otherwise
incapacitated individuals. These activities may be acted upon by the request of
the Trinity County Sheriff, Cal OES, or other governmental agencies and are not

Incident Management System (NIMS)
History
In 1979, the Trinity Co. Sheriff’s Office sanctioned the county’s first search and rescue team. The twelve-member team specialized in Ground and Dive Operations throughout the county. Over the last forty years, the Trinity Co. Search and Rescue Team has evolved in rescue expertise, to include but not limited to Dive Team Operations, Swift Water Rescue, Incident Command Team, Ground Search Team, Rope Rescue Team, and an Explorers Post. Today, the Trinity Co. Search and Rescue Team has over forty volunteers. These members consist of local professionals, residents, and high school students within our community. Each team member is a volunteer dedicated to helping others in times of crisis.
